While on our spring break trip in Corpus, we got some sweet new gear! Some Sector 9 Butterball wheels for sliding and Sector 9 sliding gloves!! So stoked to try them out.

1 - When you purchase your first longboard, you don't need to purchase a gym membership two months later because you got fat.

2 - Your mood does not fluctuate up and down with the price of gas.

3 - More environmentally friendly.

4 - Cheaper.

5 - No license required.

6 - You feel like you're flying. (also see reason 34)

7 - They don't smell bad.

8 - Longboard traffic is so much more mellow than car traffic. Imagine the 401 filled with longboards!

9 - Longboard train! Draft train! You can hand pump a draft train.

10 - The ability to ride a longboard is sexier than the ability to drive a car because a skateboarding man exudes virility,
physical strength and sweat. A man driving a car incites thoughts of stability, financial support and responsibility.
Most importantly a man whose car makes him sweat is not so pretty.

11 - Driving doesn't rid the stress of a long hard day!

12 - No need to pay for parking.

13 - Another excuse to be wrapped in leather.

14 - Car tires are just nowhere near as cool.

15 - It's hard to kick flip a car.

16 - Hitting a curb in a wood car would cost way more to repair.

17 - No need to check tire pressure constantly as the temperature decreases.

18 - Let's face it, it's more thrilling to NOT have air bags and seatbelts.

19 - You will ALWAYS know when your gas tank is low on a longboard!

21 - You'd get pulled over for trying to carve down the street in your car.

22 - Drafting other cars is dangerous.

If you are doing this on a longboard however, you are quite talented and expressing your style.

41 - Longboards sometimes have cool graphics. Cars rarely do.

42 - With a longboard you can go from having the equivalent of a shitty Honda and upgrade one part at a time -
bushings, bearings, wheels, trucks and deck - as your budget permits until you have yourself a Cadillac.
There is no such option when you buy a car.

43 - You can mix and match parts by different longboard manufacturers. With a car, you have to buy a "complete."

44 - The rare occasions of not actually riding, longboards are MUCH easier to bring with/transport than a bike - TTC, Cars, etc..

45 - In tough economic times, the money you save riding a longboard instead of driving a car
is like being handed a government bailout every month.

46 - Longboarding creates very little C02 emissions (exhaling).

47 - You will very often beat any mass transit system to your destination.

48 - There is no such thing as traffic in the world of longboarding. It exists beside you,
but you have all the power to completely be exempt from it. Hallelujah.

49 - You can't pump cars.

50 - Bump drafting with cars usually results in $1000's worth of damage.

51 - You can't conveniently store multiple cars on a rack.

52 - Modifications to cars cannot be done with a single tool.

54 - If you order a car online in pieces it's going to be a LOT longer before you get a chance to drive it.

55 - Ever tried to check your car as baggage for a flight?

56 - You don't look like a moron riding a longboard in leathers and a full face.

57 - Leathers never prematurely detonated and killed a small child.

58 - Driving your car across the country does not earn you wicked bragging rights, sponsors and fame.

59 - Longboarders enjoy sharing the road with many other skaters. We actually look forward to it.

60 - If you fart on your longboard no one will know.

61 - Lift kits for trucks cost 1000's, risers cost about 48 cents.

62 - No back seat drivers to piss you off!

63 - When you're learning to drive you want stomp your car on a curb to break it,
thus proving to your friends you are hardcore with your grinds and slides.

64 - Doubles as a van for moving furniture.

65 - Works as a bed when you have none, especially when it's a dropped deck and your head is raised from your shoulders.
Cause who needs a roof? Stars are awesome.

66 - Is a better conversation starter than cigarettes, or a car.

67 - Leaves you with that mechanic look that we all strive for without killing your back. (wiping grease from keyboard)

68 - Allows you to accumulate waaay too much gear, well honestly, because WE NEED IT. Does not always live in the car.

69 - Race parties are the best parties out there. Like a family reunion that happens multiple times a year. Cars don't have parties.

70 - When several longboarders crash into each other, it is often followed by hours of laughter
rather than an exchanging of insurance and a lawsuit.

71 - No flat tires... maybe flat spots, but no full out flats.

72 - Tucking down a hill looks much better and less stupid.

73 - In low traffic areas crossing red lights won't get you a ticket.

73 - You can't change trucks on a car to turn better.

74 - While driving, if you put all your weight on the right, the car won't turn.

75 - A 50/50 grind with a Honda Civic is very hard.

76 - You can't look like a ninja while driving a car.

79 - No time wasted reading cryptic parking signs, e.g. Parking allowed from 10am to 11pm, two hour maximum,

81 - Longboards become like personal benches wherever you go. Cars can't be benches...

82 - Most longboards make excellent rolling surfaces in a pinch. And you don't have to worry about crumbs
in between the seats when you go through customs.

83 - You can't drive your car while sitting on the hood down a hill/garage!

84 - You can't get car tires in so many tasty colours.

85 - Cars don't have nearly enough grip tape.

86 - You won't drown on a longboard if you fall off a bridge because you can't get the doors open.

89 - Chicks dig LONG boards.

90 - Steezy drivers usually lead to a traffic ticket and/or accidents.

91 - You can't misty flip in a car - except for Ken Block.

92 - You can't drive your car through a mall without loosing a side mirror or your license.

93 - Ever try to strap a go pro to your roof?

95 - Talking on your phone while boarding isn't illegal.

98 - Cross stepping on the break and gas pedal could lead to your death.

100 - One hundred longboarders don't take nearly as long to get around town as 100 cars.

Spring Break

This Spring Break the Mad World riders will be making a trip down to Corpus Christi, TX and Padre Island to do some riding and hang out with some kite surfers. We will keep you guys posted on our adventures, don't you worry!
